I'm wondering how long does photo vendors like Park West keep our comp photos on their site?

Just curious, I searched last year Manhattan Dancesport photos, photoreflect returned "no events matched dates" (I entered 7/4/08) so I guess maybe since 2009 Manhattan dancesport already took place, so '09 photos replaced '08? I searched '08 Embassy photos also returned "no events found" results.

However I searched '08 ohio star ball, '08 OSB photos still there, so I'm not sure, anyone know how long photoreflect keep comp photos? Is it usually one year?

Its a good general question.  GSR, our main photo service, seems to keep the pictures permanently.  Thats quite a service when you consider how few people might go back to look at an old comp....

No idea about the companies you refer to..

Park West is a major photo vendor for NDCA comps. Sometimes I go back to purchase photos from old comps if needed, mainly cos right after comps we usually incur travel and comp expenses, so don't want incur additional expenses to purchase, have to wait a while when saved money, etc. or to avoid paying shipping multiple times, combine order for several comps order together

They are good photographers - except I hate the way they will not sell you the original digital file.  GRS here will at quite a nominal price too.

The reason I need it is to photoshop and then make high res large prints.....

I agree Park West are very good photographers! I also don't like the fact they don't sell you the original digital files since I'm the same as you, would like to upload to my fotki site and order large prints sometimes...

I don't even know how to photoshop, only know uploading and order prints...lol...

Probably Park West the only photographer don't sell digital files, other good photographers on Dancesportinfo, Danceplaza, and some of my other photographer friends all sell digital files.

I'm especially impressed with service from DSI, as soon as I pay online, they instantly email me digital files, so fast. Rob Ronda from Danceplaza so efficient too, email me digital files quickly.

For Park West I have to wait for weeks for paper photos to arrive in the mail:(

Perhaps if we complained to the comp organizers they would put pressure on them?

I do hope comp organizers care; Someone needs to care to give better customer services...

This time Park west charged me money for 2 photos of OSB, they charged me beginning of December '09, but hasn't ship until today:(

not yet want to spend time write letter to complain only 2 photos from OSB lilke $30:( but just wrong to be so irresponsive!!! It's already bad not to provide original digital files, and if takes that long to ship paper copies, I will not be surprised that they lose business in the future!!!

we only ever order the digital file and get it printed ourselves. We have a service here from the equivalent of Walmart...(Big W) and we order on-line and then collect from the store...Getting the digital image might be better.

one of my peaves - its just that photo company (Park I think).  All the others I've dealt with will sell you the digital file.

Right digital is the way to go for 20th century!!!

I FINALLY got photos from Park West, that’s after I told them if they still do not respond my email (after 2 months of waiting), I’ll have to call credit card company to charge the amount back to them.

DSI is the best delivering digital files, they email as soon as my billing info verified, they usually deliver within 10 mins, amazingly fast!
