If I can chip in here, I find that too: doing more does not necessarily mean there is less time for other things. The fact is that it does not matter how hard you try to do an job or task* you still have to have a break from it. Thus, what I do is use dancing as my work break and oddly it actuallly makes me work and dance harder. It may sound odd but what happens is that you drop the things that you are used to doing as spacers (TV, going to the pub, etc etc) and slot in the obsession instead.
* I had to add this disclaimer: this works except for when you have to spend a lot of time due to a responsibility with a person - raising a child or looking after an older relative etc...

people who want to really dance, train and compete will always find a reason why they should and others can find reasons for why they don't.....each reason is valid it depends on how much you really want to do it.
We all have to move out our pace.

Best to know your own mind - as long as it is informed it will make the right choices. And if they are not, at least they are YOUR choices.

Yup! Plus doing 1min20sec of Viennese Waltz at a comp isn't an fun as it sounds (someone and someone else, unpublished observation), so you'll be safe in medallist!

But it SHOULD be. If its not, I'm sorry, but you are not doing it quite right. The best compliment my pro ever gave me (and compliments are rare) was 'I could dance VW with you all afternoon'....
