I don't think perfection comes into my dancing at all - curious really because I am rather inclined that way. Its expression that drives me - the need to express bodily.  I don't know exactly how to put it...

I think that everyone who is competitive never thinks what they did was good enough and always strive for perfection, not the only thing but it is what you work for. and the results would should with an improvement in your PB.

Well.  Maybe perfection is too strong a word, but excellence is certainly a part of the picture.

When I first experienced that sweet spot that happens when I'm dancing with a gentleman, the music is fabulous, and we're moving effortlessly - I realized that sweet spot was a high I never experienced in my life before.   I'm totally out of myself and in to my Self.  I work as a legal assistant so my regular world is rather structured and restricted.  When I'm dancing, I'm expressing the love of the music with a freedom of my soul.  Ahh - that sweet spot.  If it happens once an evening - I'm ecstatic.  And I want more  Grin

Ah the sweet spot. yest I do know that, the joys of everything coming together. My reason for competing was self improvement and then the exhilaration of the win and the performance. It is not just for the win but definitely for the performance, I love to perform and entertain Cheesy

you nailed it.  It must be akin to the so called 'runner's high'.  I know exactly what you mean.

I get that high from performing in any context.  that's why dancing -- showcases, formations, exhibitions and such -- is a perfect fit for me.
