From the topic's title i assumed this was a thread that directed people to the major informative through the partner dance area. So what was the reason for this thread in the first place?

well I did - and I wrote the part on what its about.  And to be honest I'm not quite sure.  Here it is again for your pdoodling pleasure:

[PDO has become large enough that it is easy to miss an interesting topic or post and sometimes you just want to comment on a topic without really participating in it.  So this is the place for such discussion.

Well, I wanted to make sure that the topic topic was topical, otherwise we might wind up having a ballroom topics topics topics topic.  And as Douglas Adams once said, after the release of his fourth book in the Hitchhiker's Guide trilogy, if there would be a fifth book: "A fifth book in a trilogy?  No, that would be silly!"
