Not too many persons know abouut it, BTM. I love the dance, and have quite a bit of angoloq (the music). I like the music even when not dancing it.

Sorry to have been off line for a few. Re the steps/hips, yes. Re steps, think milonga steps... but not a milonga action (some heel/some toe steps, but all smooth); hips in a very smooth figure 8 sway (similar to lambada but very smooth and much slower). Re the music, PM coming.

I did a kizomba workshop in Birmingham yesterday; the hip and stepping movement is different to milonga and it feels softer but otherwise the lead is incredibly easy if you can dance milonga. I had a dance with the visiting teacher and she was just an incredible follower. The music is totally different. Someone said it was like Reggaeton but i swouldnt know the difference.
lots of fun if I can get the hip movement right.

Yes. Tango purists don't like it, but I always have. I have even known it to be danced in Argentina, though it is more popular, naturally, in Brazil. Interesting that you are doing it.

Well I'm just a fruitcake. A local salsa teacher who I know told me about it and I met her there.
I suspect the tango purists wont like it, but as tango dancers come from different backgrounds if they are salsa or ceroc dancers it may be intersting to them, and of course the music is more afro-latin and clubby.
It wouldnt surprise me that it takes off and becomes very popular. the workshop was held in a salsa club; and multi -ethnic or what. So lots of cool black Indian and probably other race guys.
