What's the usual dress code at your socials?  We used to not have an official dress code, but over the summer we had a run of people showing up who were really dressed inappropriately, so now we have one.  Basically it's no jeans, no cutoffs, no muscle shirts, and nothing extraordinarily revealing.  I'm usually in khakis and a short-sleeve button down or polo shirt.

interesting isn't it that most dancer do wear clothing that is smart casual, it makes sense though, when you get dressed up you feel better and look better so it gives you the drive to dance better....It is all about a state of mind

This.Exactly. Although there is a handful of ladies that like to dress up just because they have an excuse.  Roll Eyes  That's okay,I suppose.  Cool

I have never gone to a dance that casual. but I find society in general has great difficulty in dressing up,....well in Australia that appears to be the case. The casualisation of society not a good move :-/

Quite literary anything. I have seen people wearing short pants (guys), to all the way full tuxedo, full gown.

I personally go with dance pants, dark color T-shirt (easier for Latin, I have to say).

The bane of ballroom dancers everywhere.  lol.   Which reminds me.  Is there a sweat/body odor management thread around here anywhere?  Those are always good for a laugh.
