V has the same issues..once he wake around that time he cannot get back to sleep and by the time he can it is time to get up. so he has tossed and turned for an hour and half. Happens for a few nights and then sleeps the next one from exhaustion

welcome to my world - but I have learned to live with it. Get up and do something useful - beats getting upset...
you are likely to sleep better the next night (or sneak a nap at lunch time)

I'm a bit confused now, sometimes I sleep early and wake up late, other times i sleep late and wake up early, and so on and so forth.

well as long as you can aim for a minuim of 7.5 hours.. I think the older you get the less sleep you get.
