I'm not sure why, but I didn't realize that New Vogue and standard were judged at the same competitions. I thought that the two dance families were kept separate.  I guess you learn something every day.  Smiley

Interesting.  I've heard quite a few dancers -- especially standard dancers, come to think of it -- make some disparaging remarks about sequence dances. I'd be interested to hear the thoughts of people who do both.Hmm. Maybe I'll start a new thread.

Standard dancers (of which I am one) often make equally disparaging remarks about smooth (which I obviously don't) - which is actually very similar to NV, without the sequences.
