I did 1st comp as pro last night at Maryland dancesport, 2nd place for rs, but was small, only 4 couple, we certainly did not     Dance our best, from the video, tons of things need to be fixed .  But ok for 1st comp.

Fantastic - you broke the comp ice and you obviously did terrifically.  Can you send me the results (or post if you like)??
How does your partner feel?

I don't see supershag there so no one taking final headshots photos. You could wait until DSI to post or wait until comp site have info

DP was enjoy too much and forgot routine a few times and made up random stuff instead:( coach said his problem is sometimes enjoy too much and losing "structure"...anyway, noticed tons of things can be improved

The big Easter Spectacular is finished for another year.

We came away with four second places and the ones that are the most satisfying were the ones at levels higher than our own...and the best best best, is that we made it to an Open final in our Standard, was so excited.... I don't know yet what our final placings were but one of our coaches was so happy with our performance, we have come along way in one year....

Just found  out that we just missed out in the placing in all the open events we were listed as 4th!...how exciting is that! so pleased with the results. Saw the video  it never give the intensity of the performance, but at least we can see what se still have to work on. but just moving into our second year of comps we can hold our head proud.

We danced at the Casino at Gold Coast on the weekend - Queensland Open.  Danced both days but didn't get back to anything major.  There was around 24 couples for the 8 dance, 22 for the Open New Vogue and 18 for the Open Standard.  I felt we danced quite well in all events (except for 1 tango we stuffed up) - and there is always a next time.  Had a good weekend overall though and our friends Peter and Rebecca won the Closed Qld Adult standard and came second on the Open Adult standard so was very pleased for them.  mm

I'm pleased if we get make recalls with fields that large   So much depends on how strong the field is in your area.  I think the Ontario closed competition is stronger, at least in some heats, than the national one - so many of the Canadian dancers live in this area

Great that you were happy with your dancing and to only have one where you felt you screwed up is an achievement in itself.  Is Open Standard a 5 dance event?  And what is 'the 8 dance'?

Hi EE, Open for Masters 2 is 4 dances only - we never get Viennesse.  The 8 dance was 4 standard dances and 4 new vogue dances 
Yes the field in Masters 2 is much harder here in our State than the Masters 1.  We are thinking maybe dancing in that next year - might have a chance at a semi - mm

mix of standard and new vogue - interesting.  that takes quite a skill set.
I take it they do viennese in Adult and Master's1?  Its a shame the dance is avoided so much.

Of course its not dance at blackpool either ....

we had to do a VW and never did any training for it and got in the final!..I think it depends on where the comp is run.
