ah, what a difference a couple of days make. Friday I was a mess and the comp was quite a challenge but what it did to was prove to me that I could get through my routines on the comp floor. Today was very different (though at first I did not realize it).
We started dancing at about 1 pm with 5 single dances (standard set - many comps that give cash prizes in schollarship put a minimium number of entries). I felt good, fit - even excited about dancing and competing. Pro gave me one thing to focus on and I did

I felt it went really well. The awards were right after and we got an honorable mention in waltz, third in tango, second in VW and a third in Waltz. According to my interpretation we came last in everything except VW (which really has been going well of late). I was very disappointed and started to worry about the upcoming dancesport series heats. Pro's partner came up to me and told me that she thought we danced well - after I expressed my disappointment she laughed and informed me that there were more than 3 couples on the floor. Well, that was a shot in the arm!
We danced better in the Dancesport series B (35-50) immediately after and then pretty well in the Dancesport series C on its tails - thats 15 in a row and I still felt pretty good.
Overalll we came 3rd in DS B (I think there were 4 couples) and 4th out of 6 in DS C (won by the wonderful Beverly Moore and Alain Duocet). I got medals

and felt exceedingly happy. Not only that but the points gained are currently sufficient for us to qualify for the Team Match at OSB this year.... more on that later...
A very happy ee
