I had an inter studio competition yesterday for the 'marshere' franchise (melbourne based) results were as follows:

Couple events:
Teenage Silver Latin - 1st Place
Teenage Open Latin - 1st Place
Teenage Silver New Vogue - 1st Place
Teengae Silver Modern - 1st Place
(they were our only couple events, so 1st place for all of them, was very happy with the results Grin)

Pro - Am
Tango Terrific (New Vogue) - 6th Place (i had only done this dance approx. 2 times before the actual heats)
Tango (Standard) - 4th Place (was very exited with this as it was a very tough field)

to give u an idea of the size of each event the Pro - Am had 4 heats each sor appro. 21 - 24 couples in each and the couple events had approx. 18 - 21

Adult Level 2 Standard - 2nd
Adult Level 3 New Vogue - 1st

Brill, as my neice used to say.  Can you give an idea of the field size too Smiley
I take it you have to advance from Level 3 NV now?  Or was this not a qualifying comp?

Congrats to both of you!

Today we had our comp - South Australian State Titles, and I got:

Social Merrilyn 3rd place
Bronze and under Cha Cha 1st place
Bronze and under Merrilyn 1st place
Bronze and under Waltz 1st place.

DP got a second place in social waltz, another second place in a bronze and below (I think merrilyn?) and a 3rd in another bronze and below (cha cha?)

We're pretty happy, because there were 6-8 couples in each event, and they were pretty good.

Level 2 Standard - 2nd out of 26 couples
Level 3 NV - 1st out of 14 couples
Level 4 NV - 3rd out of 12 couples
Open (Level 5) NV - 6th out of 6 couples.

We need 2 more wins in Level 3 New Vogue to elevate to Level 4.

The Marshere dance studio franchise is a very prominant force in melbourne dancesport, espically in medallist events. At the last 'official' competition every medallist final was full of marshere competitors. When u put it like that it no longer sounds like an inter studio comp does it Tongue
