we are looking at what to go to next year...and might go to the crown....need to investigate cheap flights and accommodation, but thankfully they are looking to put put more local comps on which will be great. If all goes to plan we may get at least one a month!

Come to the Crown! That's the only interstate comp we do!

well we will work it out. but the only way to really improve is to go interstate for the competition otherwise the improvement is slower

I don't see the difficulty of a competition affecting my improvement at all Q - except for how I work for them I perhaps... they are more gaps in the learning process

you may be fortunate to be in a place where you have lots of competitors but locally we don't have that many at most we have 9 masters couples that actively participate but some of them are slowing weaning themselves out of competing. As much as I personally strive to improve each time I practice and go out on the floor, there is nothing that inspires me more, than trying really hard against much better dancers....

That makes you perform better - but does that make you a better dancer? I think I separate these in my mind but perhaps I should not, at least for competition dancing...

A good dancer doesn't necessarily mean a good competitor!
I agree with QPO...you learn a LOT at competitions!

Yes, last competition we learnt heaps - that we're not going back to that particular comp, which means we are going to the good comps, which means we learn more ^_^

Well, thats kinda my point. I don't think I learn much dancing at a competition, more how much of my dancing I can do under pressure..
