Cool. Best of luck!
Yeah, before thisyear (actually had two couples win events this year!) the last couple from Chicago region to win pro events at any FA nationals were Kristian and Irina Grabowski winning open latin back in 2007. And since they're no longer together and no longer in FADS, that doesn't really count.
So was really happy we finally had another win from our region this year.

Mixed novice actually had a semifinal (quarterfinal maybe?) this year at AAC. Noone from my main studio, as we only have two couples competing now, but one couple from Chicago North competed in it. Took third.
This year there was Mixed novice (semi or quarter), Novice(final), RS Smooth (Semi), Open Smooth (Quarter), Closed Bronze/Silver smooth (Semi), Open Cabaret (Final), RS Rhythm (Semi), Open Rhythm (Quarter), Closed Bronze/Silver Rhythm (Semi), Open standard (final, only two couples). Were only missing RS latin, Open latin, RS standard and syllabus for either international style.

Heh, yeah, depends a lot on the pros. I know in Kriistian and Ira's studio, well, when they were together and had an FA studio, there was a LOT of latin students. I think Ilya and Nadia's in NJ is same. Both my studios have pros that will teach latin if you want. I don't think anyone is doing so at my studio, but at least two students at other studio competing silver level latin.

We have a three (that I know of) students studying International Standard in Morristown. I used to study it before my pro opened the FADS. Then, I switched to American Smooth. Does that count? If so, we have four that I know of.
