Just go ee!!! you'll never feel you are ready, always something you feel you could improve, that's what happened in every level. Why not just going and for good experience?

I hope you can convince him ee, there's nothing to worry about. There are plenty of first time attender dont' get out of 1st round. It requires experience, nothing to be ashamed. Hope he can get over this and get started.
