ttd: what a gogeous video - wish I had one of me that good (which is why I have never posted one
). You guys were particularly good in the waltz I thought - those pivots are so light and together. But do tell, what is your coach saying to you after the W?? seems as if you got quite a lecture
Also how did you fare in this (if you care to share that is). I could not see the whole field but guess you did particularly well in waltz and tango....
Oh yeah, btw, I won this one. There were 6 total couples on the floor, but two were "A" age group, and I am a "B" (36-50), so I was not competing against the girl in the white dress and against the girl in the red one, but I still had 3 other ladies to compete against.

Awesome vid! Very smooth, the movement was wonderfully clean and you made it all look so easy. Fantastic!

yes I had noticed that also, but in Australia I have noticed some gents are also just wearing suits, I am not sure what the rules are about the code once you get to a certain level.
Hmmm...I thought the dresscode here for adults is proper dancesport tailsuits. Surely you do get the odd one or two gents who wear normal suit and tie, but the majority of level 2+ wear dancesport tails. What's different about the video is that seems like more than half of the gents are wearing normal suit and tie.
A couple of years ago tails went out of vogue briefly and dance suits were in. Juniors still wear them rather than the junior tails

You're kidding, right? The guy I am dancing with is my teacher. There are no am men in that video.

I would not have thought of it as obvious, before reading the comments on the video i did not realise that this was a pro/am event, i thought he was your dance partner...

Most definately, when i first read that the event was Pro/Am and while watching the waltz thought that the man was the Am, when he started pointing where you should start and that he was giving you tips in between dances were the only things that changed my opinion....

I think thats the sign of a really great pro - makes it look as if you are an evenly paired couple. That is so important when they are judging you as such...

I hope noone minds but on trying to link to my own video I realized we don't have a place for PDOers competition video links. Since ttd had put one on this topic I thought it best to move the topic over here and give it a new title.

came third - but there were two OSB World Championship finalists in the heat - and with 5 judges (25 total placings) I got 3 first and 9 second placings accross the five dances - I second in QS and tied for second in tango. WAAY better than in my dreams...
