I have a bunch of dance photos posted on Facebook from FADS event. There's also some from the last showcase in Hillsborough. I'm really liking the camera for dance events.
Awesome! Share some photos! I like taking photos at dance comps too. What settings do you use? I'm still using Auto. What about you? I shoot full manual, ISO right up (800-1000), 1/100 sec and aperature wide open. Flash? I'm using flash.

flash would depend on the lighting in the venue?

the comp organizers - they have banned 'professional' cameras becaues there is always a company hired to take pictures and they don't want competition. They had to yeild and let people bring thier digital cameras - and now it seems they are not even trying to stop them from videoing anymore (no announcements over the weekend at all). I think they realized it was futile.

US and/or Canada? I've not had any problems at the FADS events and have not been to an NDCA event since I got the camera.

These are the private competitions here - crystal leaf, falls premiere - I think it depends on the photographer with the contract, how much they care about competition...

some of the championships here, you must buy a camera license.... and that can be $40 for the day
