Yup.  Same dress in both cases - but the video is truer to the colour (its a pinky red skirt).  Here's the original in 2006 and 2007 (I'm rather frugal on dresses but remember I used this one through syllabus)...

I was checking out the video you posted on FB, Elise.  I was wondering if it was the same dress or not - I like the alterations!  Have you considered adding some black accents higher up on the skirt itself where it meets with the bodice?

There are some crystals there to try to blend but probably not enough.  The dress is actually not finished - my seamstress (Vida) was working on it all night before I left - and thats all the ostrich feather clumps that she could manage to make and glue - as MK mentioned (and skiipper at the comp) it needs a lot more in both black and red.  If anyone knows where one can buy them ready tied I woudl love to have the info.

I wore the other dress (avatar) on friday night but have not posted any pics of it (they did not come out very well ).  Vida did a fabulous job of refurbising that one, adding sculpted flowers on the bodice and rear end.  I just wanted to wear both to see how they worked.  I got a bit stuck in the hem of the red one at one point but it was not serious.

she did indeed (though she also made the original ) but I was also a lot fatter then (but oddly not much heavier  - I suppose I gained muscle...)

I love the sheer sleeves, they keep the fudoobidas under control not saying that you have them, but I do

thanks - you can see the contrast between the old (avatar) and updated version - I particularly like the flower at the waist and the petal going up my shoulder - it breaks the line a bit which is too stron without.

My seamstress shortened the back a bit more than the front and now its no longer an issue.

And spray tan, I know - but it occurred to me that this dress may actually go better with pale skin?  Must we spray? Or I'll wear the red one in which case the only visible skin is covered with makeup or stockings!

yes maaam... (hides face - its not spray tanned...)

did not think about that re the tan and dress...I will see if there is a thread about tan and bring that back.

I think Q was just saying that she had not thought about whether she needs to tan for her dress.  I would say definitely: the whiter the dress the more you need to be tanned....
