Steps you hate

Okay, this is for all those steps that you just can't get and/or can't stand. I'll start:
Corta jacas - Yes, let's balance my full weight on the back edge of my 3" flared Latin heels. Great idea!
Shoulder taps in ECS - These are just stupid.
Telemarks - I cannot for the life of me get these stupid things right.
What are yours?

Would be very happy to demystify some of these for you, if you like. Steps that I don't care for... 1- all steps that are unleadbale, 2- all steps that are designed for a syllabus, but don't really follow the character of the dance, samba rolls.

The most beautiful part of the dance is often found in between the steps... and in the movement within the stillness.

Telemarks are really the only thing that need demystification. The other 2 I just don't like.
Why don't you like samba rolls? I haven't learned them yet, but they're one of my most favorite things to watch.

Not so much a step but rather a sequence - fallaway slip pivot to open telemark then going into a reverse weave not too much fun.

Telemarks are really the only thing that need demystification.
An instructor did a bunch of work with me on these for a show routine that we used to do. She kept telling me, "You have to move me out of the way." The trick was figuring out how to do that without shoving.
Having said that: I don't think I've done a telemark in anything since the last time she and I danced that routine together. Telemarks are one of those patterns that don't seem to be useful for social dancing.

Waltz fallaway and rock has given me a lot of problems in the past. I'm finally getting them after a ton of coaching. But it still seems that, for any given situation, I'm always ending it on the wrong foot.

Yes, yes, yes
I would totally agree with this one. I don't care what the man does as long as he tells what he is doing. If I can figure out what he is doing then it is a good step to me. Hey, the man can only go forward or backward or a combination there of, on either his right foot or his left foot. So....how can I hate that fairly limited amount of possibilities? I know that men like to name all the possibilities with fancy names but it is basically forward, backward or a combination there of.

Wing - should be deep fried and bitten off the bone, not danced...

Oh, I love the wing. A step where I get to lay across the man and it is totally acceptable.

LOL!!!
I used to feel that way until our very own DVS explained it in a memorable fashion (my first post was all about how the heck do I do a wing)
I'm not fond of the steps that look "contrived". (I know, I know, they all are contrived to a certain degree, but it's the "feel" I'm referring to)
The shoulder taps in ECS and the cucarachas in jive just don't do it for me, probably my two least favourite steps in the entire 10 dance repertoire thus far.

You mean that there are instances when that is unacceptable?!
