Superstition. Have you never heard the saying,"A whistling girl and a crowing hen always comes to some bad end." Yep.   Whistling girls are evil.  Roll Eyes Grin

yup, chamber music - we spend a week playing quartets etc - you get the music the day before and then walk into a room and play it.  not for music sissies... Smiley

I see you are versed in things violinic!

Just put my days work over 3 hrs Smiley

Yes.  I played for many years.  Music major. Music camps.  Community orchestras.  The whole nine yards.  Came close to pursuing it professionally. but wimped out.  Grin  I admire the fact that you have kept it up.  A lot of people don't, myself included. *sigh*

but I DIDN'T keep it up. I quit at age 13 - and then picked it up again in 2008.  Its never too late - and its much more fun as an AM then as a pro; you get to pick your pieces, your venues and your teachers.  Not to mention your pace.

But what did you play - and when are you going to come to your senses and start again?  We could have a PDOrchestra Cheesy

Violin, flute, voice. For years.   Plus music theory, orchestra, band choir and marching band.  Kept me out of trouble.  Wink

Just for the record, LIKE being in trouble.  Grin

Violin was my first instrument and my first (musical) love.  I played for 12 years and was on a professional  performance track in school for most of that time.  Played professional gigs (mostly chamber music, but a couple pit orchestras.)  Belonged to a sight-reading orchestra for several years. Ya know. the usual.

When it came time for me to pick a career, I picked high tech, because it was secure.  Obviously, little did I know. Shoulda gone with what I loved. But then again shoulda woulda coulda. *sigh*

but why not pick it up again?  OK it might not be an alternative career but it sure as heck is an alternative life.  And that is WAY more important...
