Standard routines or sequences you use

Share routines or sequences of steps you and your partner use during dancing standard. You never know, you might find a real nice sequence you use for the rest of your dancing time

Waltz - Promenade chasse, fallaway slip pivot, double reverse spin, over spin into a throwaway oversway!

[what a great idea zac! - but please people, even though many sequences are transferrable - please mention which dance you are thinking of

I used to love this combination
. It was one of my main teacher’s favorite groupings.
Waltz:
Starting in Promenade facing DC, ready to move down the long side.
1-3 of Weave from PP ending in CPP, Bounce Fallaway, Back Check, Natural Pivot, Run, Teleswivel, Promenade Pivot, Back Wing (man's rondé), Promenade Pivot and Left Whisk, Continuous Outside Spin to PP.

I found a nice sequence for Quickstep, though i'm sure it could be adapted for most other standard dances: In corner closed position, natural pivot turn, forward walk into rumba cross.
Another nice one for Slow Foxtrot: In corner closed position, Hovor cross including feather, closed telemard, feather from outside partner, fallaway reverse slip pivot

we like the bounce fallaway coming out of the hover cross... gets you moving straight away...

I wish I knew the names of the steps to tell you the one sequence I like a lot. In waltz (he does it sorta automatically, but he will change it up sometimes to make sure I am following and not anticipating

EM - get him to write your routines down or dictate them to you. I have all mine in an excel file and use it to study my part...

we film our routines now. I do it with the teach and V films it then we have the opportunity to review. the Teach calls the timing, it has definitely helped between lessons

Did this one in the open silver (smooth) waltz in the comp I went to, even though I had to shorten it a bit to fit on the floor:
Open left to a twinkle. Cross-body into a face-to-face, back-to-back. Ending with fallaway and rock.
