Thats it. Going a block away to visit the parents? Or right round the world to do the same thing (could be fun) - this is for your journeys...
I'm off to Montreal for jazz and to watch a ballroom competition....

At home in Charleston, SC until Tuesday for a family reunion. Went dancing at my first studio last night, got 2 intense days ahead of me. All in 95+ weather, with at least 90% humidity. Welcome to Charleston, extended family from the Midwest!

People complain of the humidity in Nashville too--I snicker and tell them to visit Charleston in August and then talk to me.

I've done that. Wasn't horrible. I've done Raleigh and Columbia in August. Those are worse. Watch out for the palmetto bugs and remember to bless your relatives' hearts when they start annoying you!
And hey, we may not be South, but we aren't 'midwest'. I prefer "Great Lakes Region"!

I'll give you Columbia. Columbia's a pit. It's got the same weather as Charleston except no sea breeze. The only thing that makes Charleston habitable in the summer is the beach. Columbia has no beach.

If the devil owned Hell and Columbia, he'd live in Hell and rent out Columbia. Ever hear that one?
Spent a lot of time at Lake Murray. That's not bad, if you have a lake house and boat.

I can comment on Greenville, Spartanburg, Columbia, and Hilton Head Island, SC; Boone and Raleigh, NC; Pittsburgh, PA; and Dayton, Springfield, and Columbus, OH.
MC and I have a few places in common.
