A friend of mine started this on a board ... 12 or 13 years ago. Then another one started it on another board about ten years ago. And so on and so on. I love it. Hope others do too. It can be a fun game, for people who love music and especially recorded popular music. (But lieder or arias work, too,if their titles are matchable.)
Here's how it works. I post the name of a song. (As a courtesy, I also give the name of the artist, but the name of the artist is not involved in the game. No matching to the artist. That's cheating, plus it makes life difficult for everybody else. How many song titles contain the word Humperdinck? lol) The next poster finds and posts the name of a different song that matches at least one word in the title of my song.
Example:
1st poster :
Got to Be Real -- Cheryl Lynn
2nd poster: I've
Got You Babe -- Sonny and Cher
3rd poster:
You Light Up My Life -- Debby Boone
For song titles in different languages, close matches in a different language are acceptable and can be matched to any easily understandable language. *Hint: Please no farsi, urdu or twi or anything that paints the next person into a corner unless they're a linguist.*
Example:
1st poster:
Quando, quando quando -- Englebert Humperdinck
2nd poster:
When Will I See
You Again -- The Three Degrees
3rd poster: Voulez
Vous Coucher Avec Moi -- Labelle
Obviously, the songs can be old or new, danceable or not, awesome or cheesy and any genre.Just to keep it simple, please stick with English or very, very simple/translatable songs in other languages. If the song doesn't have an easily identifiable artist, the name of the source will do.
Title -- artist
Note: I highlighted the matching words above to clarify the rules, but there's no need for you to,unless it makes you happy.
I'll start:
Put That Woman First -- Jaheim
