Do you prefer a court shoes that has a firmer toe area? Or soft
i like soft not firm. i need to "feel" the floor!

just bought a new pair of white court dance shoes to match the dresses I am now allowed to wear. :-), they are firm but I am sure as they wear in they will be soft on the toe. I just find that it makes it easter to push into the floor with a firm shoe rather that have the complete pressure on my toes.

I used to wear a new pair of shoes for every competition. I actually got to like them being stiff. I would put them in the shoe box as soon as they were getting soft.
PS. My teacher had a shoe box where the top competitior would put the shoes. Then on Saturday and Sunday, the kids and teenage classes would come in and if somebody forgot their shoes or couldn't afford shoes, they were told to go find a pair from the shoe box.
