Would someone mind explaining this to me?  I'm not at all sure that I understand how it's really supposed to work.  How does the follow get to the floor without hurting herself?  I need to be able to practice this next week and I don't want to injure my instructor.

I am not sure But from what I see it is a very fast spin and I think it depends on how low to the ground you release the person I would suspect. have you searched it on you tube?

Youtube dancing with the stars standard routines.  I've seen plenty on the show.  So I'm sure you'll be able to find some on Youtube.  Sorry I didn't have time to check and post any links.  Good luck with the death spiral!!!

is the death spiral like the skating move? or are you starting like the skaters and then once the lady makes contact spinning on the ground like a floor sweep?

Thats where I heard the term before!  I prefer the idea of a heart attack while doing spin-pivots in waltz... Undecided
