Is anybody going? I am. Smiley We're bringing new members of our USA Dance chapter to watch the amateurs compete Friday and Saturday, and maybe they'll stick around Sunday for the Pro/Am. I'll meet a friend of mine from NC and we'll practice a bit and then compete together. Also, I am going to bring some gowns and accessories to the Gumbo of Ballroom Consignment shop. Smiley

So... will I see any of you guys there?

It would be fun (and I love the name! Cheesy) but alas, I have a family reunion back home in SC that weekend that I have to be there for.  Be sure to tell us how it goes, though!

What makes this weekend so great is the first two days are a regional qualifier for USA Dance, and the last day is a reasonably priced, independent pro/am competition.

It's going to be an exciting amateur competition for us just because we're bringing all our competitors from Houston and Austin in both Standard and Latin categories.  So despite who else is going to be there, the competition is going to be fierce for us.  We're a friendly bunch off the dance floor, but on the dance floor the gloves come off.  It's funny, because we fight (or rather, dance) to the death on the dance floor and then after the competition we all go out and eat Mexican food!  It's been a tradition.   What can I say, except that we like to rock our with our guac out!   Cheesy
