Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we venture to make euphomisms' (with apollogies to WS)

Why not just call them 35+, 50+ etc?

The danced in the Masters 2 and Masters 3 New Vogue and Standard and also the grandmasters New Vogue and Standard.

I really like the sound of "Grandmasters" but is slightly confused by Master 2 and Masters 3 AND Grandmasters? Is the title reserved for people over 100?  Roll Eyes Tongue

Sorry - meant Masters 2 level 2 and 3 and Grandmasters !!!  -  Tongue mummsie

We have a few grand masters events here.  Depending on the comp, it normally is both must be 60 years or older the other is you must have a combined age of more and 120  Grin - mummsie

Saw one of out top couples training in NV this week, they are very good at standard and moving across to NV. I have wtched them to a dance that we have been taught to do so differently. TLW no heel leads when step arial and also when you do the beginning part step, drag, step cross and point, point is straight ahead rather than pointing the side of the foot and then when going back they ar bringing their feet to the side and not straight LOD...

I have seen another couple do similar things and get marked higher than us at a local comp and I feel that they will also even though it is wrong. Having said that they are taught to do this by top coaches even from Victoria......

I wont allow myself to get jaded and will do it the best I can but when they win over you you then question what is it that the juges look for if they forego the footwork.

sometimes it boils down to interpretation to the music.  Some couples just look more in synch with the music and more not hitting the steps on the 1,2 3 but gliding through so it looks more graceful.  You watch all the couples doing their 3 steps - they glide.  We are still learning the glide  Cheesy - mummsie
