August 6-10 this year (2009).

Anyone go to this last year?  Its perfectly placed for us to do but I would love some input - for example how big fields are there in AM (we will do Senior I gold/prechamp).

Empire State was my very first comp!  My Latin coach and her partner are going, but they're also going to Manhatten.  You should go just to spend some time in New York!   Smiley

I think Manhattan is a bigger am/am comp than Empire. But the energy is very positive at Empire.

You will have a semi in Manhattan.
Contact Empire directly about July 15 and ask about the entries. There are alot of am standard dancers in NYC/NJ area, so I would say that semi is very probable.

I would like you to come, ee, but to tell you the truth, it's not a big comp. If you want to come to bigger US comps, do Manhattan Dancesport or Ohio or Embassy:) you'll meet many of us:)

It doesn't have to be big - its our (DP and I) first international one for the experience and it will be my first pro/am with new-pro.  So I really don't want a very big one.

I am going to be in NY for about 4 days in total though - perhaps our paths could cross Wink

BTW we are going to Ohio....

I'll be there during the day on Saturday. 

Flying in Friday night for dinner with "the other sister", then a dinner date on Saturday night and a couple of possibilities for Sunday, so that was the best I could work in.
