I just started reading "The Dancing Years" by Bill and Bobbie Irvine. I just realize that there are so many similarity between them and our partnership - not sure if those are something quite common in all partnerships, or just us. Although I'd like to think that that means we have the potential to be world champion
. Wishful thinking.
The reason I read it was, well, I am quite interested in the history of ballroom, and the four schools of thought. And considering that the Irvines were one of the founders of Square schools - and they competed against Peter Eggleton, who was also the round school founder (?). So I thought it might give me some insight.

Sounds like a great book, millitiz. Is it still in print?
Haven't read much lately, but I have a ton of stuff queued up in my Kindle library. It's really enjoyable. Apparently, a lot of authors put their e-books on "sale" for free download periodically. So, every couple weeks, I log into my Amazon account and download anything free that looks appealing. This is awesome!

I don't think that that was in print anymore. I got an used copy, and luckily, I think I had a signature in it (I don't have my book around me, but I think it was Irivines?)

(I used to collect modern first editions)

I am dipping into John O'Donohue's Anam Cara; celtic wisdom, very interesting.

I was really surprised when I first opened the book. I mean, I got it quite dirt cheap...and with the signatures in it? I wonder if the guy really knows the actual value...

I'm sure they did not - because the names would not be recognizable to them.
you said 'signatures'? I'm intrigued - how many and who's?

please read slowly
Beannacht / Blessing
by John O'Donohue
On the day when
the weight deadens
on your shoulders
and you stumble,
may the clay dance
to balance you.
And when your eyes
freeze behind
the grey window
and the ghost of loss
gets in to you,
may a flock of colours,
indigo, red, green,
and azure blue
come to awaken in you
a meadow of delight.
When the canvas frays
in the currach of thought
and a stain of ocean
blackens beneath you,
may there come across the waters
a path of yellow moonlight
to bring you safely home.
May the nourishment of the earth be yours,
may the clarity of light be yours,
may the fluency of the ocean be yours,
may the protection of the ancestors be yours.
And so may a slow
wind work these words
of love around you,
an invisible cloak
to mind your life.
