yes I review everythng after a comp to make sure if I need to replace things befor the next one. If I dont it straight away then I dont have to rund around just before a comp thinking that everything nees to be checked and gives me a chance to buy it at the next shop

My comp routine has changed slightly...
The nigh before, I make a list of everything I need in the morning.
Dress, makeup, hair. Hairspray, makeup, shoes, spare shoes, underwear. And then things like munchies, water, etc.
On the day I still get things done nice and early, but I do them by the checklist.
If it's an away comp (interstate), then we usually allow an hour to get to the ballroom, even if it's only 15 minutes away. Makeup and hair still get done at home/hotel, but if I'm travelling by anything other than my own or DP's car, then I'll wait until we get to the ballroom to put on my dress.
At the comp, if we're given a chance, we usually practise a bit (Or rather, I pester DP until he comes and practises.)

Have you been to a distant comp yet L? One where you have to stay in a hotel? Getting all the necessaries together becomes something of a millitary operation!

Yup, twice.
It only changes in that the list I make for comp is attached to the list I make for packing my suitcase. It all goes in to the suitcase, and then I organise things the same way the night before.
Only stress is waking up in an unfamiliar place, navigating an unfamiliar city, etc.

Sounds like an excellent approach, 'Nessie.
With repetition it becomes easier, less daunting, right?
