you're more of a natural than I am then QPO! I think it took me over 10 or so to loose my fear - and I am sure I could get it back again.
...we need a topic on this...

surely there is a small comp you could do locally - it doesn't matter how small just so that you can get out there and experience what its like to compete? I was thrown in the deep end at the Emerald Balll CA and I would not wish that on anyone...
OTOH if you have nerves of steel (or no nerves at all)....

I told her! I wouldn't start at Star Ball if you paid me. Too much.....busyness, even in our level and division.
But, if she decides to compete at Star Ball, well, I'll be there cheering her on!

Meh ........ I am a competitor and a fierce one naturally. preforming and going up in front of people and being judged doesn't bother me nor do I get nervous.
I just know my butt will be handed to me on a silver platter.
But ya never know
will update tonight. final decision is tonight on when and where my first comp.
mark my words though ... will be at OSB next yr. no matter what

comon girls, we're on the same side - there's quite enough competition out there!
EM if you do decide to do OSB (and I DO hope that you come - surely there is another comp you could do first - local ones are so much cheaper too) remember that people tend to dance down - I saw pro/amers who would do well in gold competing in bronze. Not that you should bet intimidated by this but definitely stay in whatever level you are comfortable in.

Did my first (extremely mini) beginners comp at the weekend. A very spontaneous decision so no routines etc sorted but we came 2nd - mainly due to my dancepartner who is an exellent dancer. Result: I loved it and now want/need to find a permanent partner so can do more
Dancing world beware!!!
