I wiped out doing the cha cha with my pro.
Repeat after me - we never do heel leads in latin.... we never do heel leads in latin ...
Didn't feel it until the next day. I needed a chiropractic adjustment in the worst way after that routine.

I got back up and finished the routine. It wasn't at comp. It was a show at the studio.
His pro partner came up to be afterwards and congratulated me on my excellent showmanship.
There was never any question in my mind - not finishing the routine was not an option for me.

I had to endure ribbing from David Hamilton (who was judging) about it.
That sounds about right.

I choked on quickstep. There was a point when some people backed into us during a crowded semi, and my brain just... left. I had to stop and make J start completely over again. I chalk it up to being WTFO, but I still hate myself that I couldn't recover.

Nothing to do with dancing but this happened many moons ago.
I was teaching Tae Kwon do at the time and during a class I was trying to show a defensive motion against a front snap kick. Here is this girl standing ready to perform the offence and me being ready to defend.
I got called at the same moment I told her to go. She didn't hesitate, distracted I looked away towards the caller only to feel her foot sinking into the soft parts of the groin, the sensitive area! I went down, thought I die and was taken to hospital to make sure everything was all right.
I was, years later got a child so nothing is wrong, but always stand sidewards in a play.
Fear? you bet!

I haven't had any personally, but have stopped quite a few of my dance partners and teachers seriously hurting their heads! Most recent was tonight actually, we were going into a fallaway slip pivot (she is still not entirally certain on her steps, or timing for that matter) she fell over as i was doing the sil pivot and caught her just in time in one of the hollywood tango moments ;

Another good one is when the coach ask you to take a look at your feet and both heads go into the same direction. Beginners luck, not any longer though.
