Board changes

In response to a request I've created two new boards for 'partnerdance jobs available' and 'partnerdance jobs wanted'.

I added a new board for the practicalities of life - in the general area.  Here you can give tips and discuss car payments or whatever!

I just added an ipod board.  Originally I made it a child board of the music board but realized that it is used for far more - and thats one of the interesting things so its free standing.

In the process of trying to figure out how to upload my own comp video I realized we don't have anything quite appropriate here to link to. 

So the way to do it now is to upload it to YoTube and then put a link (and any extra notes of cousre) on the 'PDO member competition Videos' topic which is now located in the Competition Board under dance sport.

That thread was moved form the General catagory, photo and video board and modified a bit   I did that because one member's video (ttd) was already linked there.

I created the bloggy spot to give members a personal area on PDO where they could write about their own lives and have feedback to just them.  At the time we debated whether this should be open to the web or closed to members.  I favoured having it open since then members could link to their blog from outside PDO for non--member access. 

However, a few members have expressed concern about this set up, especially Madeira, since it basically opened up personal data to total internet access.  I've rethought this and realize that she (and others) are right - its too exposed and I would hate for someone to have personal info spread accross the web because of PDO.  I've changed the bloggy spot settings so that now only regular members can access these.  While I would discourage posting of any really personal information anywhere on the web, here included, at least now the info that is posted will only be seen by people that are approved by the forum.

Please let me know (or post on the PDO discussions board) if you have any comments on this or any other policies/practicalities of PDO.

I just added a new board under General Parnterdance to accomodate suggestions and discussion of excersizes for dancing (which is pretty broad by the way).

I am going to set up a new board for Maya's 'food for thought' personal development topics.  This will be a limited access one for participants in the program.  Any regular member can join.  I'll post more organizational info here later - Maya will, of course, set it up as she chooses.

I've made the first board change in a while: a new one for 'Judging' as a child-board of 'Dancesport' and have moved the relevant topics in there.  If you find any others that you think might be better placed there please let me know.

I added a new board on 'Grass roots competitions' - a step towards encouraging the participation social dancers in dancesport but without the glitzy competition.  Please check it out.
