Well it was qualititative and quantitiative...adorned myself with fake tattoos- a tiger or two..and danced like one as well....
had some lovely dances with ladies swoooning in my arms......
...did you have a backup medic?
no of course not then I would be able to practice the Kiss of Death....
but i can safely say it was better than anyone elses....

Hardly ever. Well, actuallly never. My DP just wants to use the time available to practise. I miss it...

i can appreciate that. at the same time, it might even help your partnership to just go relax & dance without pressure... just for the connection & the joy of it.

Oddly, I'm finding more of that in our practises. I think our dancing is actually getting somewhere.... Now our competition results
but lets not worry about that

Ah, the delicious fruit of the Mexican Salsero tree that grows in the desert and roasts while still hanging on the tree...

Tumbleweeds
Seriously, the last couple Fridays I went to this one studio's Friday night social's. so few people were there. Last night was a little better in terms of sheer numbers, but still, you just about hear whistling winds and see tumbleweeds rolling by.
On the plus side, I did get some good dances in and especially fun were two ladies who were quite new to ballroom but did so well and were just such a joy to dance with. I really enjoyed showing them some new things.
I have a hunch about why attendance might be down at this particular event, and some other folks have hinted this to me as well. The reason, one lady in particular keeps playing the EXACT SAME SONGS EVERY TIME with little variation when its her turn to DJ.
Starts me thinking, Gordon Ramsey has his GR's Kitchen Nightmares where he gives a restaurant some tough love and turns it around, wonder if someone like Len Goodman or Ron Montez would do something like "Dance Studio Nightmares"

I'd guess she has a CD already put together and just turns it on...

This weekend in Toronto was SALSA ON ST CLAIR. A two day festive event that saw st clair avenue closed for 3 blocks to accomodate a large stage and hundreds of booths, including all the major salsa dance studio's who had dance floors set up and music, live and dj, so ppl could dance. They also had their performance teams do shows, both at their booths and at the main center stage. The center stage also hosted some fantastic salsa bands and singers and ...it was awesome!
Danced my arse off, on the street! Fun but not recommended.
