Not the weekend, but I got to try New England Contra Dancing for the first time last Monday! I was visiting a friend in the Boston area and she and her husband go out dancing regularly. It was SO much fun! I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.

Last night at cornutt's studio was great! I didn't hardly sit down the entire time--not something I'm used to, I spend much more time just hanging out at my studio, LOL. I'm exhausted!
Starting a new topic about something that crossed my mind last night...

Good for you! I must learn to do a proper salsa one of these days. When I try it, I try to do mambo steps and I get myself all confused. Either that or I accidentally fall into hustle.

There were lots of real salseros and salseras there. They were fun to watch. I was going to ask one of them to dance, brave me, but I got too tired.

We have had a few week-ends at home as the dances that were on were going to be so crowded. Tonight will be our first Saturday day in awhile. Does not seem like a week-end without one night out...

This weekend we went to a masquerade. There were so many great masks, and the hall wasn't too crowded. We only had to go into 3 lanes once, and in a lot of the other dances some people didn't do them. it was a good program too.
Unfortunately at one stage I think we got stuck behind the worst dancer there. Twice. He never seems to know what he's doing and moves really slowly.
DP also got it in to his head that we would improve our endurance (lately we've been so tired at the end of a 2 hour lesson) so at one stage we did about 7 dances in a row without stopping. Not to mention we did a 5-6 minute tango without getting lazy and sloppy, and then kept dancing afterwards instead of collapsing onto the chair.
But it was a really good night. I haven't had so much fun dancing for a while.
