Do I really get to be the first person to post in this area?   Grin

So how did your social dancing go last weekend?  What kind of dancing did you do?  Regular venue or someplace new?  Any revelations?  Any really great or really bad partners?

My Friday evening was good, despite being stag (my DW was worn out from working a bunch of OT last week).  Did a couple of good waltzes, several rumbas including one really good one, a bunch of WCS (it was the group class before the party this week).  And one of my favorite partners, who has been away for the past year due to a variety of issues, turned up unexpectedly!   Cheesy  She's had some lower back issues, but she told me that her doctor had ordered her to go dancing this week.   Grin  At the end of the night I asked her how it was doing, and she said great.  I need to call her tomorrow and ask her if she was sore Saturday. 

And I got to be the DJ for a while Shocked

thats the neat thing about a new forum - we all get to be pioneers.  The social dance site is now yours for eternity C.

I'd love to give my report - but we havn't social danced since the op - but we did dance at the studio and just had fun so if you can social dance by yourselves I suppose we did Smiley

Well we missed the last one as we had been at the comp on Saturday during the day so rested in the evening to be ready for the next day. We always go to a social comp every week hook or by crook. It will help improve floorcraft and our coach said to go out on the the floor and pretend it is a comp, don't necessarily fling the arms about widley but use it from the shoulders. Otherwise we don't get enough dancing.

They are trying to reintroduce a monthly comp but alas at the moment the next one for us in our state is June

My DP and I go social dancing as we like just hanging out and meeting other people.  Its nice to just have fun and not care if your moves are just right.  We don't worry if people think we are good or feel we have to "look competitive".  We just are what we are at that moment and sometimes we actually dance our best because we are not trying to dance our best, if you know what I mean.

I have not been to a social dance in who knows how long.

I use to enjoy it. But sorta have 2 reasons or so why no social dancing for me. I miss it.

Not much last weekend due to Easter.  I did go to a b-day party for a studio owner for a couple hours Friday night.  I was the only one there who could dance an Argentine with her.  That was kind of cool.

Was going to go to a social on Saturday that has been cancelled bummer!. I know there is one tonight, so may have to go along to that..Hope the neck will be better by then :-(

Wow!  Great night out with MusicChica!  Just wish my DW could have gone with us; she had a really bad week at work and was exhausted.  But we had a great time.  Attention gentlemen in the Nashville area: MusicChica is a little hottie!   Grin  And quite a few guys at our studio noticed.   Wink
