Real shame they didn't "use" the music. Had they been dressed in black sombre clothing I would have had them at a funeral. And the ballroom type up and down movements reminded me of the many that do same when starting out in their AT career. Not good.

[can I add AT to the title of this topic? I assume that is your intent - and right now it looks like love in any circumstance (in which case I have to move it to the Heart board) ?]

Didn't like the dance much, but dancing AT to other music such as this is very plausible. We can dance fox to what might sound like a slow swing, or lightly rhythmic rumba, etc. or vis-a-vis. Why not dance tango to non-tango music. The name of the music is a label not a qualifier.

The most beautiful part of the dance is often found in between the steps... and in the movement within the stillness.

Different music styles might make AT almost a different dance - I think that might be a great thing...
can you imagine a waltz AT?

The 3 standard dances in the AT fam are; tango, vals (a waltz), and milonga (a fast fox or slow quickstep). Interesting to note is that bolero is the unknown AT dance (not typically danced at AT dances, but a very fundemental rhythm in that country).

Wait, you forgot Chacarera! Hmm, I guess that doesn't count, does it.
Speaking of dancing AT to other music, Peaches showed me
this
again recently. It's interesting, a lot of the movies that really impressed me when I first started tango don't really seem that special anymore. But this one still holds up. I really like their connection to the music and the way they move together.
