New Vogue does not belong in "beginners, social and syllabus" :-( It's a highly advanced style of dancing that is just beginner, social and syllabus friendly

New Vogue is the easiest style to learn with reference to foot positions, simply because you can follow the person in front. Once you've mastered the foot pattern, it is as difficult as any other style. There just isn't as much knowledge about the style generally as there is about Ballroom and Latin.

true, once you have picked up the patter you can get around the floor very quickly, styling is another thing. Using up all the timing, often people race though the dance making short steps etc ( I have been guilty of this myself when I started). But New Vogue is great to get a lot of people on the floor quickly..

What I find very difficult about NV is the arms. I have the feet under control...making the arms soft rather than looking like a bunny chop miss your input Andrew.

Hi... If your arm choreography is causing you problems, I would suggest that your choreograph is not sound. I should we able to watch you dance with no use of arms and tell where your arms would be. The expression of arm lines is nothing more than a continuation of a body expression.
If they don't feel right, then they probably aren't the right ones.
I spend a lot of time taking out un-related arm use in new Vogue

I think what I do is not finish it off. I see from some of the phtos that I have the star fish had going :-/ and also it is too sharp from the elbow on...but having said that it is getting much better, have focused alot on the arms..We jumped from level 1 to 3 very quickly and now are happy therews so we can consolidate our dancing......
