DW and I have competed there in the past, but I don't think we're going to this year.  Funds are a bit tight.   Embarrassed

I'll be there for sure--it's my studio!

And cornutt, am I going to have to smack you upside the head to get you up here for this???

Sigh... we're already committed to doing an invitational in Tunica the week before.  Our studio is co-promoting it, so we're doing it to support the studio.  We'll see how it goes.  It may turn out to be a one-year thing.   Undecided

Wasn't there some conflict with a badly scheduled comp in Birmingham the same weekend as Vol State last year?  You people need to get your act together!

Looks like there MIGHT be a semi in my scholarship, 7-8 couples.  I don't know any of the out of town couples, so the only ones I'm worried about are the other 3 from my own studio.  Of those 3, one told me he was doing silver, so that's a real problem if he's actually in my scholarship and it's not just a misentry!  Ben Ermis' student is a certifiable threat, obviously.  And I'm not quite sure what to make of the 3rd--the comp organizer is her pro, so obviously she has to dance with somebody else this time...but I also could have sworn she did Rhythm, not Latin, so I just don't know.

In case anyone else didn't realize it from MusicChica's post, the heat lists are up.   Smiley  And if you want to find out who else is in your heat, try the following method:

Open your heat list and make note of your heats. Then press ctrl-u (Firefox) or View - Source (Internet Explorer), and type ctrl-F and put Heat 122, or whatever in the search box. THat will let you find each person in that heat.

I see what you did there.

I can't *find* the heat lists! I wanted to see where our favorites were and who we could cheer on- after PF Chang's, that is. And before Jack in the Box. Do you know those SOB's don't have the fried mac n' cheese triangles anymore? Argh!

Maybe I'm lost- I clicked on the site, took me to 07 and 08.

It should work if you open up the site (www.volstdancechallenge.com) and click on "Heat Lists," Ginger.

But here's the direct link: http://www.compmngr.com/volst09/VolSt09_HeatLists.htm
