so this is easy.  just google your name and see what comes up.
you can use your regular name, your signon your name with initials - any variation.

So I googled elisedance - and dance foums came up.
and when I stupidly clicked on that there I was again with that red arrow through the middle. 
can't wait till PDO comes up first....

My LinkedIn and Twitter accounts came up on the first page with my real name. Seems there are several LucyDiamond's out there so I didn't come up until the 4th page with my username and that was my profile on DF.

Interesting.  I've never done that before... First of all, Google starts out by suggesting that I have spelled my name wrong.     The top results are from my own Web page, which is no surprise.  The second ones are from dontcrack.com, linking to a piece of electronic music software I published.  Then a couple of my blog posts.  Then I have a couple of results for a David P. Cornutt who is an emergency physician in Oregon. 

Much to my surprise, the next result is a really, really old Usenet posting I wrote circa 1987.     I didn't realize that anyone was archiving Usenet back that far.  It was a real trip seeing my old sig, with the UUCP paths (from back in the days when you had to route emails by hand).

I did that awhile back.  6 or 8 pages of results from different comps and sports and school etc.

It can be very surprising what you find out there. and some youngster post things that may be regretted later... Think before you send it out there as it can be there for a long time.
