What are some of your favourite variations to the traditional stylings that you've seen in New Vogue that couples have come up with?
I love our La Bomba, the stylings of which we have borrowed from a variety of different sources - we're especially proud of the roll in leading up to the pivot sequence.
Can't do it before Opens level, but I also really love when couples swap hand hold (from left to left to right to right) following the three step and kick and the end of the swing waltz before the reverse viennesse restart - it's a very elegant variation.

Oh we absolutely love having different styling to everyone else. There is at least one instance per dance that we look completely different to what everyone else is doing, and I have to say that so far it's really working in our favour!
P.S Videos are up on youtube.

Our level does not allow us to be creative with that, we have to do what the scripts says, I look forward to the creativity side of things

Ok finally got to look at your video.....is your level allowed more creativity with your arms or do you have to follow syllabus....It was funny to see from the faces that I knew...One of the judges was a local and people getting in the way of your video are also from our state. The Amos's they are level five dancers and their son Joel in adult I think...
Well I will see you do it in person in about three weeks.

We still had to follow syllabus, so every styling you just saw was "syllabus" but also different from many other couples.

There's no such thing as syllabus arms. Footwork, yes, and points of contact at certain moments of each dance, but the free arms? You can do whatever you like.

Not sure if that is true. we were told at level one in Swing Waltz for instance you must join up hands on the side closes....also in La bomba you must maintain contact with the womens arm once you you are doing the forward lunge. So there are some restrictions not sure how strict they are with policing that

I think that would be counted as a point of contact, rather than arm styling.

Go watch some NV videos on Youtube, note what most of the couples are doing. Then do something opposite of that!
ie. when people's arm go up, try go down; when people's arm go out, try go in; etc

Yep! But I think more of trying to tell a story. Even if you do the same steps and same arm styling as the couple next to you, but it can also be done with a completely different feeling.
