"Live and Let Live" -it Tango
«

Following the guidelines of F* it philosophy.
http://theprettyitway.com/
tango is also:
the stumbling hesitant dance of beginners
the tottery dance of..... senior citizens
the woman who dances badly to BajofondoTangoclub then complains that she doesn't like electro tango music
the soul grinding singers of the golden age which make you wonder if the DJ is deaf or just stupid
the auto-pilot crossers who do things totally unled
the dance partner who has forgotten what you taught her last week and f***s up the briliiant step you were about to perform
the guy in the middle of the floor doing posturing tango moves with his partner
the Argentinian lady who doesnt budge until you put in the same effort as moving a fridge
the woman who's panicking and making stuff up because you've paused
the milonga consisting of six people
the fantastic female dancer who can only dance with her partner and is incapable of following anyone else
the fat woman who cant balance on hangs on to her partner to stay upright
the man/woman whos there to get away from his/her spouse
Tango is about desire and the relinquishing of it.
add as you will

Yeah, our milonga Saturday had an attendance of about 12 people. Very strange - either the place is packed or virtually empty.

I thought you'd be calm and collected after the weekend!
OK well if I have to be grouchy ....
the envy as you watch performers "warming up" and they're still better than you at full flow
the need to travel 200 miles to get in a "decent" dance
the politics of the cabaceo
people cutting past you at the corners of the dance floor
knowing there is no "perfect place" for dancing (it all depends who shows up)
respecting your elders
dreaming of the perfect dance
...

No you have missed my point. I wasnt actually grumbling ( for a change) I was making the point that all this is part of tango but we can get caught up in the search for the ephemeral perfect tango but your additions to the list are most welcome.

In order to keep peaceful relations with the Great Deity i have agreed to remove the anglo-saxon title from this thread.

thanks BTM - I would love to be more 'live and let live' but the old one was just too obvious and 'up front' for a topic title.
