Yep.  That part of the country can get surprisingly tropical in the summer. I forget which part of the state you're in but, if you're near a body of water, it's even worse because of high humidity.

That's about as cold as it gets here in the winter, as well, Q.

28C.  Now that's a nice spring day. Smiley

Where I grew up, winters would sometimes get as cold as -20C  and summers as hot as 37C.  With near 100% humidity in the summer.

I like where I am now much better.  Even though it gets a bit hotter in the summer, because I'm pretty far inland, the humidity is rarely very high.

We had a monsoon thunderstorm last night - 4 inches (100 mm) rain in 3 hrs!!

I think that's the most rain I've ever seen.

New drainage in the garden held up well - I suppose I can stop worrying about that Smiley  And no leaks in the basement either.  The house is declared sea-worthy.

There was some astonishing footage online a while back of a family (I believe it was in rural Britain) whose house completely flooded in a matter of minutes.

Take care.

Toronto is mostly pretty flood proof: its a low escarpment with rivers in ravines serving as natural drainage - else its on a light sandy soil that drains well.  wer'r also too high for global warming - sea level changes.  So water is not our biggest worry...
