In this sport, it is about the preformance AND the look. To think otherwise would be foolish.
The first time I had to have my hair and make-up done, I was miserable. I do not wear make up or lashes in my everyday life. I felt ugly and overdone--I lost "me" somewhere. Then the dress---it was worse!
I can guess for the guys it is the same thing---most people do not wear tailsuits every day. At the top levels guys wear make up and use hairspray/gels as well. Not your everyday stuff--right?? So why not just get on with it and wear the collar that is right for you and your neck size and length?

Its certainly a learning game. For me though dressing up and putting on an inch of warpaint is so different from my other life it was a whole lot of fun. I've found it to pale a bit - something of a plarver that is necessary in order to get out and dance. I suppose dancers feel the same - its really the same issue.... performance needs.

Yes it is about the look and you need to wear things that fit properly, not too big or small.. As for the colour you really must get one that fits you properly otherwise it either looks like you are choking or too baggy well that would be even worse.  |
