So ..... I put the wrong shoe polish on my patent ballroom shoes. I used normal shoe polish for leather shoes. It formed streaks and now my patent shoes lost its shine.  Sad Any ideas how I can rescue my shoes?

try soap and water...but dont get the soles wet. Otherwise keep polishing them with a woolen cloth till you have rubbed the shoe polish off. it is a coating sitting on the surface. I don't think it would have penetrated the  patent

I had mozzie bites and I sprayed a bit of windex on and it worked. I'd just finished watching said movie at the time.

Um...are you sure it's safe to spray that stuff on skin?

Ammonia at that concentration isn't harmful.  get it on your skin most any time you wash windows with windex and paper towel (since it always soaks through the towel).
