I'm about to start dancing again after over a month's hiatus.  Given my age and physical status (ok - not great but ok), I find it sometimes a challenge to convey to others at the dances that I need to ease back slowly, build back up, and generally take it easy for a while until my system adjusts to dancing again.   One thing I do is make sure I don't dance every dance right off the bat.  Have others had similar situations and how did you handle it?

Not quite - but its going to happen now!  I've been off for a while due to personal stuff and work and will be doing like you, reimmersing.  Perhaps I'll do a bit of social dancing first - but I'll probably do every dance I'm asked to.

Good thing is to start excercising first - both for the obvious and to make you feel good about yourself.  I've been walking to work three days a week (4.5km twice a day) so my legs feel great and I have some stamina.  I'm sure that's going to help.

Great question...
