http://www.businessinsider.com/gangnam-style-dance-tutorial-2013-7

Gangnam Style was uploaded to youtube one year ago today and has since become the number one viewed youtube video of all time, with 1.7 Billion views.  Yes.  That's billion with a B.  It's a catchy tune and an easy dance, which spawned tons of copy cats and many spontaneous dance parties around the globe.   Much fun, if your inhibitions don't prevent you from dancing around on an imaginary polo pony. lol.

Question:  Do you think that dance-related one hit wonders, such as Gangnam Style, Harlem Shake etc, indicate good news for the dance community overall?  Does the fact that people are willing and able to shake their tale feathers translate into willingness to really dance?  Or is this just one of those passing fads that makes no real difference in long run?  And do you think it's possible for a more formalized dance to go viral and change the world, even if only in a small way?
