Has anybody here ever tried formation dancing?  I think it's really awesome -- fun and challenging to do, with a totally different set of challenges than some other forms of (even ballroom) dance.  I think this might even be a better proving ground for nascent professional dance teachers than competitive dance.

They are really good - great coreo too. 

Reminds me of the 1940s movies - the formation dancers in pools dance halls etc etc

Yes.  This team, in particular is really good.  Good enough to travel the world and perform.

I think that formation dancing is achievable for a lot of people, even beginner dancers, at some studios.  Reminds me a lot of playing in an ensemble as compared to playing solo.

Yes.  I can't remember that guy's name.  But he was very, very famous for choreographing the most spectacular formations, complete with aerial views.  Cool
