It's summer vacation season and, especially if your pro is an independent, this is the time of year when they may be absent for a week or two or more.  The same thing happens around the year-end holidays.  (In the franchise studios I've attended the break is absolutely minimal.  The studios are only closed on the day of major, major holidays.)

Questions:  What do you do to stay in shape and practice during a dance hiatus that is not of your choice?  Do you feel that these breaks in instruction are detrimental to your dancing?  How do you minimize damage, if there is any?  Or do you feel that these breaks are a good refresher?
