Or does it just come along for the ride with the other dance-related things that we do?  Do you do any in-gym cross training to help improve your dance abilities?  If so,what kind?

Really interesting blog post (mostly for ballerinas) talks about the author's perception that strength training is needed for serious dancers.

What do you think?   And if you do strength training, what kind? Weight lifting? Pilates?  Other?

Does anybody have experiences they want to share?

Oh yeah and does level matter?  And is the answer different for partner dance genre or lead versus follow?
