Not to be confused with Dance Forums, which appears to no longer have a FB page.  This is a dance discussion group for all types of dancers, not just partner dance. Not sure why it popped up on my FB feed, but I'm glad it did. Smiley  I ran into a couple of old dance friends over there.  *happy*

Based on the spellings and the cities that are mentioned it looks to be UK based, but a lot of the threads are on universal topics. Smiley  I would have posted a PDO link, but that's not allowed.  Only individuals can join, not organizations.

neat - did I join it some time ago?

The old groups allowed you to post links off-site but FB blocked tha twith the newer groups.  The result - the groups are no use unless you pay pay pay.

I don't know how FB's guidelines work.  These rules appear to be rules of this forum, and much stricter than  FB.  Anything that's deemed commercial will be removed- promoting events, organizations, etc.  It's all dance discussion.   I kind of like it, to be honest.

Interesting discussion today : is stripping dancing?  This place is really interesting for non-partner dance.  For partner dance, there's PDO,of course.

Of course.  I mean just because something has a sexual content does not mean its not a dance - if it was bye bye most of ballroom.  Its a little known fact that BBC TV once had a series of stripper acts as the last program of the evening - as an dance/art form.

It was stopped pretty quickly...

I meant this particular group.  Unless I misread their guidelines, it's all non-commercial, all the time.

Interestingly (to me) one of their mods/discussion leaders used to mod on Dance Forums.  He's a great guy.  I may drop him a line and ask him to drop into PDO.  He is so knowledgeable about swing, blues, and jazz dance!

I can ask.  Cool  He's a busy guy, but he's a born teacher.   Very patient, too. If there's someone with a question about his area of expertise, he will take the time to answer it.

Pity.

Think I'll start a similar topic -- not a copycat one but something along the lines of what makes dance, dance. It would be so nice if some of our guests would chime in.Smiley

After a few weeks of belonging to the group, I finally admit that it's a most modern jive group.   Lots of general dance issues do get discussed, but it's mostly MJ and mostly UK.   Just so you know. Smiley

Lots of nice people. Smiley
